Francine was born on Montreal West Island. She was soon fascinated by the different cultures of this metropolis. The wealth and contradictions of this world will nourish her imagination and creativity, and will shape her artistic vision throughout her life.
She obtained an interior designer college diploma and worked in Montreal and Toronto. Her interest in beauty and aesthetic research naturally brings her back to her first passion: the visual arts. With her knowledge of color and her creative effervescence, Francine refines her techniques by exploring different forms of art. Painting, sculpture and mixed media became her preferred modes of communication. She plays with acrylic and all its full range of products, introducing papers, recycled and found objects.
Her multiple relocations in Canada and in Europe are a number of privileged points of view that allow her to frequent the artists of the past in the most important museums and current artists in contemporary art galleries. As contemplation cannot be enough, Francine takes courses to perfect her art, wherever opportunity presents itself. Back in Quebec in recent years, Francine continues to participate in workshops; her curiosity, her desire for learning and exploring leads her to define herself better as an artist and as a person.
ARTIST STATEMENT
Art is the means by which I explore the various sides of my personality. It is my way of making contact with my emotions, my desires, my passions and transmitting them in different forms. Like an alchemist looking for magic formulas, I use all my knowledge in techniques, colors and materials at my disposal. The result is a variety of art forms such as realism, expressionism, non-figurative, and mediums such as collage, mixed media and acrylic. As an artist, the goal of my work is to generate an emotional impact with unconventional forms and colors recreating a fantasy of reality
